Akumal Bay is slightly larger and also has some very attractive boutiques, a kids’ club, a bureau de change, and a couple of neighborhood grocery stores. When you enter the exclusivity of Casa Magna’s enclosed estate you feel the spaciousness of the grounds and the lushness of the enchanting tropical foliage all around, interspersed by a few banana trees. The delightful path leads you through the garden and up a few steps to a swimming pool which measures twenty six feet by sixty feet – you will not find a larger, privately owned pool in Akumal. There is also a lot of space around the pool, enough for the whole family to relax together, either in the hammocks, the lounge chairs, or on the floating rafts in the pool.  If you fancy a bit of barbecuing there is a gas and charcoal grill right next to the pool.

Upon entering the villa you first find yourself in a large entrance hall with lofty cathedral ceilings. From there you move into the extremely spacious living room which is furnished with enough comfortable sofas for everyone. The large entertainment center has satellite television, DVD and VCR players, stereo, and wireless speakers which you can pick up and place wherever you like around the villa. The living room even has a little reading niche off to one side, enabling you to enjoy some quiet reading time without completely disengaging from your friends or family.  The icing on the cake in this fabulous living room are the magnificent views of the coast and the Caribbean Sea through the windows that seem to cover the whole wall. It doesn’t matter where you decide to sit you just can’t get away from the gorgeous views. Stepping out into the back patio you find a private outdoors area with comfortable built -in couches, colorful pillows and cushions, as well as a table and chairs which can accommodate six guests. Native tropical vegetation abounds. The views of the coastline and the Caribbean are unsurpassed, and the sight and sound of the waves crashing against the rocks can be exhilarating.

Back indoors there is an elegant and spacious dining room with a tasteful glass table capable of seating twelve guests comfortably. The dining room also enjoys ocean views and has its own French doors which lead out to the lush back patio.  The other side of the dining room runs into the elaborately equipped gourmet kitchen, which is more than a match for even the most demanding of chefs. On the first floor there is a pleasant guest bedroom which looks out onto the swimming pool. It could also double up nicely as a den for the kids. It is next to a half bathroom. Ascending the elegant, curved stairway you notice how the stained glass windows filter the light into vibrant colors. Once upstairs you pass through the open landing with its elegant columns, to get to the three spacious bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed and its own private bathroom, which boasts a sunken tub shower from where you can enjoy wonderful ocean views. Within the master suite there is an extra room with twin beds and a closet, which comfortably sleeps two children. Not the closet, the room. The master bedroom has a large balcony and enjoys the most beautiful views of the crystalline waters of the Caribbean.  It is also equipped with satellite television, and DVD and VCR players.

The first guest bedroom also has a king size bed and a large closet which is walk-through and takes you into the bathroom with its exquisite tiles and its stand up shower. Just like the master bedroom it enjoys gorgeous ocean views and a large shared balcony. The second guest bedroom has a king size bed, a smaller, more private balcony with charming sea views, and a sizeable closet which walks through to the bathroom with its stand up shower. This large bathroom is shared with the enchanting, sunny studio which has a bookcase (with books!), a queen size couch, a chair and the most wonderful, sweeping views of the garden and verdant jungle below.
